Discovering Korean Food

I found a job training the teachers at a Korean school in Ortigas.  I have been at it for 3 weeks now - this week is my 4th - and so far, I am loving it.  I was quite apprehensive last Friday, however, as the Korean owner was in town.  He treated us to lunch and I seriously don't know what we ate.

In case you don't know it yet, I am a very picky eater.  I only like certain food (steak and taties!) and I like to stick with what I know.  Naturally, I couldn't say no to my new boss so I ate.  And I had to go (as in go) 4 times that afternoon!

That is why when dinner time came, I was almost scared shitless (literally?) - he wanted to take us out to dinner.  Am glad I went, though.  I had the most wonderful barbecued beef strips that I have ever had.  They were so marbly that it was not even funny.  The sesame oil sauce and the bean sprouts were even good.

Next time someone tells you Korean food sucks, don't believe them.  Sorry I can't tell you what I ate because I don't remember what they were called.  Beef is all I remember.

Quick Update

Time does have a way of flying by when you're busy, doesn't it?  Since my last post, so much has happened and I didn't really even think of writing on my blog.  Just some new things,  quickly:

  • Jethro's really gone.  The tech guys at Datablitz says the motherboard's fried.
  • Good news - I got a job as a trainer in a Korean school.  I am having fun so far although I have to wake up at 6 every day to get to work.
  • We went to Baguio - that' s the summer capital of the Philippines - and I liked it there.  My wife has a detailed post in her blog.
That's it so far - it looks so much less now that I have it written down.  I can't believe how it seems that I don't have enough time in the day!
